From a simple YouTube channel to a movement
Ghulam Hussain, a native of the remote village Ghursay in Gilgit‑Baltistan, launched a YouTube channel called Siachen Village. Initially documenting local life, he soon began using the platform to highlight the struggles of his community in Tehsil Mashabrum — and then he started delivering direct aid to those in need.
His sincerity touched hearts far beyond the mountains. Overseas donors started reaching out, wanting to contribute. As support grew day by day, it became clear that a structured effort was required. That's how Mashabrum Foundation was born — a registered non‑profit committed to creating lasting change through compassion and collective action.
Today, the foundation runs multiple projects in education, clean water, food security, and community empowerment. It is powered by a dedicated team of local volunteers and led by the vision of Ghulam Hussain — proving that one person's determination can ignite a wave of hope.
